My Makeup Essentials

Recently I’ve read comments on Instagram and Facebook where some of you are curious what lipstick, blush, etc I use. It’s always fun for me to discover new products that other people swear by, so I thought it would be fun to give you guys a peek into my makeup bag.

Our schedule has picked up a lot lately with season 4 filming and Chip and I are usually running from job to job with the film crew. The great thing about Fixer Upper is that I’m able to do my own hair and makeup on the go. This is actually my choice and I don’t really love to have a team of people swarming me to touch up my blush and ‘shine spots.’ So I just carry around a pretty basic little bag of makeup to get me through the longer filming days.

My makeup routine is pretty straight forward and I try to keep things pretty simple. So here are my favorite tried and true essentials that I’m always sure to keep on hand:

JOS MAKEUP

Tweezerman tweezers | In case I find a stray
Revitalash Mascara | I picked this up at a local beauty boutique on a whim and It quickly became my favorite
Colorscience pro mineral powder | Coverage without that heavy, caked-on feeling
Anastasia Brow Wiz | Stays on all day!
Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner | My tried and true favorite. One of our show producers knows I love this so much that she sent me over 100 of these for my birthday last year.
MAC eyeshadow in “Nehru” | My favorite smoky eye-shadow color
MAC lipstick in “Fresh Brew” | The best long-lasting nude lipstick I’ve found!
Jack Black Lip Balm in “Shea Butter and Vitamin E” | I hate having chapped lips, so I always have this in my bag
Lancôme Blush in “Mocha Havana” | A great shade of neutral blush
Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets | To take care of those “shine spots”
